Parents and families play an important role in a child’s development and learning. This page has been developed to connect parents and families to resources that support their child’s growth.

Food Assistance
Replacement of Supplemental Nutrition Assitance Program (SNAP) – SNAP Recipients who lost food due to Hurricane Helene can apply for food replacement.
Feeding Tampa Bay – Is providing emergency distributions of food and resources.
Salvation Army – has mobile feeding units and disaster workers from across the country are deploying to impacted areas to provide food, drinks, emergency supplies and to provide emotional and spiritual care to survivors and rescue workers.
Financial Assistance
FEMA – Provides disaster relief funds, grants and loans for recovery.
Disaster Assistance – Individuals and business owners who sustained losses in the designated areas due to Hurricane Helene can apply for assistance.
Red Cross – Offers financial assistance, emergency shelter, and support services for those affected by disasters.
General Recovery Information
Flooding – See street flooding and plan your route.
Damages – Residents can self-report damages to help prioritize damage assessment operations via the Damage SelfReporting Form.
Housing Assistance
Comfort Stations – The City of Tampa, in partnership with Hillsborough County and the Florida Department of Emergency Management, has activated two Comfort Stations to assist residents affected by Hurricane Milton.
HUD Disaster Resources – Provides housing assistance, including temporary housing, repairs, and replacements.
Salvation Army – Provides emergency shelter and other housing-related services during disaster.
Mental Health Support
SAMSHA – Provides crisis counseling, mental health support, and substance abuse help during disasters.
Crisis Text Line – Offers 24/7 free, confidential text support from trained counselors.
NAMI – Offers mental health resources, hotlines, and local support groups for those affected by disasters.
Points of Distributions (PODs)
PODs are drive through relief areas where residents can pick up water, tarps for protecting homes, and meals. The PODs allow residents to obtain these items without having to leave their vehicles. Sites are open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or until supplies last. Sites will close from noon to 1 p.m. daily to reset. POD locations have been established at six locations:
