Scholarships and INCENTIVE$

We believe early learning teachers and professionals have one of the most important jobs.

While you focus on caring for our community’s children, we’re working to ensure you earn what you deserve. We reward annual financial INCENTIVE$ to early learning teachers like you (earning less than $25 per hour) to supplement your pay based on your education and continuity of employment. Rewards range from $450 to $5,000 per year and increase as your level of education increases.

To be eligible for INCENTIVE$, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Work in a School Readiness site (director or any teacher) or VPK contracted site (director or VPK teacher) in Hillsborough County 
  • Earn less than $25.00 per hour as an early childhood educator (Director, Teacher, Assistant Teacher, Floater or Family child care home provider) 
  • Have at least one of the education levels listed on the INCENTIVE$ Scale (from a regionally accredited college) 
  • Work at least six months in the same eligible child care program 
  • Be employed at this same program at the time of employment confirmation 
  • Work in your program with children birth to 5 years of age for at least 20 hours per week 
  • VPK is Eligible
