Felicia Thomas is the Vice President of Product Operations for the Children’s Medical Services Health Plan operated by Sunshine Health on behalf of the Department Health. The plan provides healthcare to over ninety thousand children under the age of twenty-one with complex medical needs across the state of Florida.
With over twenty years in the healthcare and managed care industry, Felicia’s professional experiences include: strategic planning, project management, policy development, benefit administration, market Research and competitive analysis, sales and marketing communications development, and product operations.
As a tenured health plan administrator, Felicia has driven the overall development and strategy of Medicaid and Medicare for over two million members. She is adept at new product development investments, determining, and documenting new product requirements, and launching new products to the marketplace and has well-honed presentation and negotiation skills. She has proven ability to manage key relationships, large-scale projects, and to lead direct reports as well as cross-functional teams.
Felicia received her undergraduate degree in Marketing from Hampton University and her Master’s in Health Administration from the Medical University of South Carolina. She is a longstanding member the American College of Health Care Executives, Healthcare Financial Management Association of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. and devotes her time giving back to the community and driving solutions that eliminates barriers and our youth and teens for school and in life.
Throughout her many years of service to the community, Felicia has been honored to receive the President’s Vision and Service Award (Jack and Jill of America Inc), Outstanding Service Award (Jack and Jill of America Inc.), and the UNCF Walk for Education Individual Top Fundraiser.
Most importantly, Felicia has a passion for children and providing the necessary resources that will allow them to grow and reach their full potential. As the daughter of two educators, she understands the importance of early learning and the impact that it has on the future development of our youth. She is committed to making a difference in our communities and helping to shape the future of our young citizens.
