Press Release: Childcare Stabilization Grant through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) 5.27.2022

The Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County has funds to provide financial relief to all contracted and non-contracted childcare providers in Hillsborough County.

TAMPA, FL (Friday, May 27, 2022) – The Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County has received funds for the Childcare Stabilization Grant through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to provide financial aid to all eligible childcare providers due to the COVID-19 pandemic. All childcare providers are highly encouraged to apply for funding at www.elchc.org/arpa.

The Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough is an important resource to the childcare community and families. We have an abundance of grant funds to provide qualifying providers. We want every childcare owner and director to take full advantage of this great opportunity. Currently $17.7 million has been awarded to 314 providers and there is more to distribute. Funds will be paid in three installments. The childcare community are heroes in our eyes, with one of the toughest and most important jobs. They have cared for our youngest citizens during trying times to help Tampa Bay stay afloat, and we need to make sure they are compensated for all they do.

Childcare Stabilization funds may be applied to business-related expenses, mental health services, personnel costs, and even relief from copayments for struggling families they serve. Providers can learn more about the grant and eligibility on our website. The deadline to apply is Thursday, June 30, 2022.
