Allison Nguyen leads the Office of Health Equity at the Florida Department of Health in Hillsborough County, where we believe that good health should be an option for everyone. She is involved in multiple initiatives to support health equity including maternal health, Health in All Policies, health literacy, Title X family planning, health literacy and community health improvement planning. She is engaged in community partnerships around public health issues relating to accessing healthcare services, food insecurity and transportation planning. She has been an invited speaker at state and national public health conferences on related topics and has had work profiled at the national level with NACCHO. She is a past participant in the USF College of Public Health’s Public Health Executive Leadership Program.

Ms. Nguyen earned her Master’s in Public Health from the University at Albany and is a Master Certified Health Education Specialist. She has a background in local public health, with over 10 years of experience at health departments in New York, North Carolina, and Florida.

Much of her free time is spent enjoying it with her husband and young daughter, and on hobbies including, reading, baking and planning for future vacations.
