1st	2nd	3rd	4th	5th Thursday August 5th 2010 - PRINT Introduction to the ECERS-R Date & Time: 2010-08-05 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Location The Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County 1002 E. Palm Avenue Tampa, FL 33605 (near the corner of Palm & Nebraska) Description This two part training is for childcare center directors and or/teachers that have applied and been accepted to the Quality Counts for Kids program.  The Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale (ECERS-R) is used to gather information about the learning environments of children 30 months to 5 years old in childcare programs. This ECERS-R training addresses the Learning Environment and Professional Development Standards of the Quality Counts for Kids Program. The first part of the training will focus on how to use the scale and allow for the participant to go back to her program and assess the quality of an individual classroom. Participants will receive the ECERS-R Scale and the “All about the ECERS-R” book (A $70 value). The second part of the training will take place on Thursday, August 5, 2010  from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  COST:  There is a $25.00 fee for this 2-part training series.  Attendees must register by submitting a Quality Counts for Kids Training registration form (available on the Quality Counts for Kids page of this web site) along with their payment.   To Register:  This ECERS training is being conducted as part of the 2010 TNT Summer Training Series.  Download the packet which contains the registration form by clicking HERE. Date & Time: 2010-08-10 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Location The Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County 1002 E. Palm Avenue, Suite 100 Tampa, FL 33605 Description In this two-part training you’ll learn how to start your students’ literacy engines! Gain an understanding of the stages of literacy development while taking advantage of classroom strategies and fun filled activities designed to energize, motivate, and inspire a lifelong love of reading.  Participants will have the opportunity make a variety of books to enhance literacy throughout the curriculum.  The training is for teachers of toddlers, 2s, 3s, and 4s.  Part 2 will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2010.  Cost: $25.00 To Register:  Download the Summer Training packet which contains the registration form by clicking HERE. Palm Avenue, Suite 100 Tampa, FL 33605 Description Curriculum is much more comprehensive than a lesson plan or a list of activities.  This training will offer attendees insight into the continuous process of creating goals for all children, supporting those goals through planned environments and appropriate interactions, and evaluating how well these experiences are supporting all children’s development.
