A Place of Our Own

a_place_of_our_own_logo_nb.gifA Place of Our Own is a series of FREE trainings delivered in collaboration by WEDU Television (PBS) and the Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County.  The trainings, which are dedicated to family child care home providers and kinship and informal caregivers of children ages 0-5, teach how to stimulate children with creative activities that educate as well as entertain.  The 3-hour training sessions supplement a daily WEDU television show by the same name and are further supported by a web site rich in free resources.  All attendees receive resources and activity materials that relate to each session topic.

All of the A Place of Our Own sessions are held at the Children's Board of Hillsborough County, 1002 E. Palm Avenue, Tampa, FL 33605.  Space is limited and interested participants MUST reserve a seat by contacting Sartura Smith, Education & Outreach Mgr., WEDU, (813) 254-9338 x2243.  Registration is on a first come/first serve basis.  Light refreshments will be served at each workshop.
